»Velo« is a taylored typeface for the corporate design of a driving school called »Schaltwerk«. Its design plays with a technical theme that was born from the regulating, controlling and structured being of both: the school and the factory that is the force behind its name. Besides a surrounding of schedules, stampers, identifications and bureaucratic forms the learner drivers are confronted with signs and (german) license plates. All these elements are collected in a typeface that breathes these spirits and is still very legible in parts of longer copy.
